University of Waikato College –Bursaries Terms & Conditions
Overview: This document contains important information about the University of Waikato College Bursaries (“Bursaries”) offered by Navitas NZ Limited (“Navitas”). Navitas offers a limited number of Scholarships/Bursaries to Eligible International Students who confirm their place in one of Navitas’ programmes commencing between July 2025 to June 2026. The Bursaries are a discretionary contribution by Navitas towards the advertised tuition fee for the Eligible Programmes stated at Schedule 1,2,3, or their further study.

Eligibility: To receive the Bursaries, the Eligible International Student must have accepted an unconditional offer from University of Waikato College (Navitas) to study an eligible programme.

- Bursaries are limited and will only be offered to eligible International Students once an unconditional offer is made on an eligible programme or tuition fees have been paid, depending on the scholarship type.
- Bursary amounts may vary depending on the source country of the Eligible International Student.
- All Bursary amounts will be applied in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
- The University of Waikato College Bursary will be credited against your tuition fee for your first trimester or if already paid in full, against your next tuition fee invoice.
- The Bursary will not be refunded to you, should you withdraw your acceptance of an offer.
- Navitas reserves the right to decline a Bursary for any student at their discretion.
Full Year 2026 (July 2025 to June 2026) Bursary Scheme:
Schedule 1 University of Waikato College International Bursary – South Asia
- This Bursary is available to full fee-paying international students who are citizens of certain countries in the South Asia region, specifically Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
- This Bursary applies to students enrolled in a Foundation or Diploma programme, excluding students enrolled in the Certificate of Attainment in Foundation Studies Accelerated
- This Bursary provides a NZD$4,000 credit applied to the tuition fee account, to be used to offset the tuition fees for the next study period.
- Limited bursaries are available per trimester intake. The Bursary is applicable to eligible students who have paid their tuition fees, until the quota has been filled.
- Students are not required to apply for this Bursary, it will be automatically offered to them after they have met the eligibility criteria, unless the quota has been filled.
Schedule 2 University of Waikato College International Bursary – The rest of the world
- This Bursary is available to all full fee-paying international students, excluding students from the South Asia region (named in Schedule 1) who are eligible for the University of Waikato College International Bursary – South Asia.
- This Bursary applies to students enrolled in a Foundation or Diploma programme, excluding students enrolled in the Certificate of Attainment in Foundation Studies Accelerated
- This Bursary provides an NZD$2,500 credit against the student’s tuition fee for the first trimester/year.
- Students are not required to apply for this Bursary, it will be automatically offered to them after they have met the eligibility criteria.
Schedule 3 University of Waikato College Academic English Bursary
- This Bursary is available to all full fee-paying international students enrolling in a qualifying English language programme
- This Bursary applies to students enrolled in the Certificate of Attainment in Academic English (CAAE), as part of a pathway offer leading to an eligible University of Waikato College Foundation or Diploma programme (i.e. CAAE packaged with a Foundation or Diploma programme).
- This Bursary covers up to 2 levels of CAAE, equivalent to a maximum of 20 weeks of study.
- This Bursary provides a 10% tuition fee discount, applied as credit against the student’s tuition fee for the first trimester.
- Students are not required to apply for this Bursary, it will be automatically offered to them after they have met the eligibility criteria.
